Shiver me timbers! The annual return of the Pirates of Smith Mountain Lake is this upcoming weekend! July 13-15. Residents and guests will don their finest pirate attire and take to the lake this weekend. Turning their boats and jet skis into their very own pirate ships.
This annual celebration of pirates has grown in popularity over the last several years as word of it spreads. New this year, Mango’s Bar and Grill located at Bridgewater Marina, will be hosting a pirate ball on July 13 from 6-11. They invite guests to dress like their favorite pirate and enjoy live music. Tickets will be $10.
Local businesses will also be participating in Pirate Days by offering special deals. You can find several Pirate battles happening around the lake. Don’t miss the Pirate Battle happening at Jake’s Place cove on July 15 at noon. Will there be booty to be found? Will someone walk the plank? Get together your best pirate costumes and take to the water this weekend for an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
