Spring Home Maintenance Checklist
GUTTERS
Pull leaves and debris out of all gutters. Using a hose, run water onto the roof and check to see if there are any leaks in the gutters that need repair.
SIDING
Power wash vinyl siding to prevent the growth of mold. If you have wood siding, check to see if any areas need a paint touch-up.
WINDOW AND DOOR SCREENS
Check screens for holes and replace, if necessary. Clean window inside and outside so buyers can focus on the view.
HOT WATER HEATER
Lubricate the circulating pump and motor. If you are not familiar with these parts, consider contacting a professional to handle the maintenance.
ROOF
Inspect the roof for any missing, loose or damaged shingles that need to be replaced.
DECK / PORCH
Check the deck and/or porch to see if they need to be weather treated or re-stained. Check railings for sturdiness and repair, if needed.
SPRINKLER SYSTEM
Replace or fix any valves that are leaking or not working.
LANDSCAPING
First impressions are key. Trim any overgrown plants, remove weeds and plant seasonal flowers to add a pop of color. If you’re not up for doing it yourself, call in a professional.
FOUNDATION
Check floors, concrete and walls for any cracking or deterioration. If you have concerns, contact a foundation expert for assistance.
BATHROOMS
Inspect caulking around the base of showers and sinks. Scrape and replace any deteriorating calked areas. Buyers want to see a fully functioning bathroom, not worry about water leakage.
